Homes That Opened My World
I didn’t grow up in luxury homes. I grew up in two-family houses in working-class neighborhoods where every square foot was used and nothing was wasted. When I started working in high-end construction as a teenager, it completely opened my world.
I spent time in custom homes in Weston and Wellesley, installing crown molding and trim in properties that felt unreal compared to where I came from. One of those projects was known as “The Bird House,” built for a member of the family behind Campbell’s condensed soup. That home later sold for around $9 million – and I still remember being there in high school thinking, “People really live like this?”
Another home belonged to the family of a President of Mass General. These weren’t just big houses; they were statements. That early exposure made a huge impact on me. I learned what quality looks like, how details matter, and how much environment can shape a person’s life.
At the same time, I had a very different kind of “home” shaping me – my grandparents’ Victorian on Fairview Street in Fitchburg. My grandfather rebuilt that house with stained glass, carved railings, granite waterfalls, and curved stone steps he dug in by hand. He passed away when I was young, but that home and his work are a big part of why I respect craftsmanship and the stories behind every property.
From Banking & Business to Full-Time Real Estate
Before I ever sold a home, I was around money and numbers. I worked as a teller at Athol Savings Bank for about three years, getting to know local people, local money, and the trust that comes with handling both. After that, I moved into the back office at Rollstone Bank, helping implement electronic banking services.
Banking gave me a strong financial foundation – but it also showed me what I didn’t want. I wasn’t interested in climbing a corporate ladder for decades, and I knew the salary wouldn’t get me close to owning the kind of home I dreamed about. I wanted to do something bold before life got filled with obligations that were bigger than just me.
So I finished my Bachelor of Science in Business Studies (Small Business Management) with a minor in Marketing, got my real estate license, and decided to bet on myself. It took over six months to close my first sale – a lot of disappointment and a lot of learning – but it confirmed what I already knew: I loved being in homes, helping people, and living the lifestyle that real estate could provide.
How I Work With Sellers & Buyers
I’m not trying to sell the most homes in the state. I’m focused on the deals I can give my full attention to – and doing them right.
- Communication first. I tell every client that communication is the key to success. You’ll always know what’s happening and why.
- “Hand-holder” to the finish line. I’m present. I attend showings, inspections, appraisals – anything that matters – instead of just putting up a lockbox and hoping for the best.
- Real strategy, not guesswork. I study the numbers, the buyers’ mindset, and the current environment – rates, seasonality, and local demand – and build offers and listing strategies around that.
- Same marketing for every listing. Whether it’s a starter home or a larger property, I bring full-service marketing, professional photos, floor plans, and 3D tours.
- Honest, direct advice. I don’t overpromise or sugar-coat. If pricing or condition needs a reality check, I’ll say it – respectfully, with a plan.
Over the years, I’ve closed well over 100 transactions and helped hundreds more people with advice alone. Some highlights include:
- Winning an offer in a field of 52 competing offers without undercutting my buyer’s position.
- Selling a commercial building for $1.7M and working closely with the city and investors to move a key property forward.
- Helping the family on Fairview Street move on from a deeply personal home with care, patience, and a lot of honest conversations.
Life at Home in West Leominster
Today, home for us is West Leominster. Audrey and I are raising our two daughters, Olivia and Ellis, along with our cat, Max, and our Great Dane, Scooby. At home, I’m not just selling houses – I’m living the same lifestyle I help my clients move into: making a house into a home, step by step.
We’ve always got projects going. I enjoy gardening and outdoor work, and there’s always some kind of improvement happening inside or out. We also have three fish tanks – one in each daughter’s room, plus a large cichlid tank at my Foster-Healey office that clients love to ask about.
Every year, we vacation with both sides of our family in Southwest Florida. That warm, Gulf-side, slower-paced lifestyle is a big part of who we are. When we can, Audrey and I sneak away for a couples trip to Jamaica. Time with family, sunshine, and taking in God’s gifts – that’s the good stuff.
Where I’m Headed
I’m committed to growing my business slow, steady, and strong – not chasing volume, but building a reputation that lasts. Short term, that means staying deeply rooted in Leominster, Fitchburg, Gardner, and the surrounding communities, continuing to give each client a high level of service and honest advice, and staying sharp on the market, data, and strategies that actually work in real time.
Long term, my goal is to own an investment property in Southwest Florida – a place for my family to enjoy and a bridge between the life we love here and the lifestyle we love there. Eventually, I’d like to help clients who want to relocate or invest in that area as well, creating a natural connection between North Central MA and the Gulf Coast.
Right now, my focus is simple: raising my daughters, serving my clients, improving myself, and doing the kind of work I can be proud of when I look back. I didn’t take the straightest path, but I ended up exactly where I belong – helping people move into the next chapter of their lives with real insight, honest advice, and a clear plan for what’s next.
